A LEADING charity is looking for donations for its Edinburgh shops.
The British Heart Foundation is calling on people to donate items they no longer need, so that they can be sold in its shops.

The charity's chief executive Ken Blair said: "We absolutely rely on the support of the local community to keep us runnin
g and without their vital donations, we risk reducing the care and support available to vulnerable heart patients across the country.

"If each household was willing to spend just half an hour clearing out their wardrobes and donating to their local BHF Shop, they would be helping to save lives, it really is as simple as that.

"Please help us beat heart disease together this July and donate your unwanted items to your local BHF Shop."

He said the donations could help save lives by raising vital funds for the organisation.

The charity is appealing to people to search through their wardrobes and scour their homes for any unwanted, good quality clothing, handbags, shoes, books, DVDs, CDs and bric-a-brac – all of which will help the charity fight heart disease, which remains Scotland's single biggest killer.

Last year, BHF Shops throughout the UK raised over £14 million for the nation's heart charity, helping thousands of vulnerable heart patients across the country.
