Tourists importing malaria back to UK

TRAVELLERS being careless with their health while visiting friends and relatives in Africa are importing a deadly form of malaria into the UK, according to the Health Protection Agency.
Between 1987 and 2006, the number of cases of infection by Plasmodium falciparum jumped from 5,120 to 6,753.

Are the UK tourists paying the proper duty and taxes on this malaria that they are supposedly "importing" back into the UK?

What a thoughtless and stupid headline.

Aye it is a bit silly. How do they know it's "tourists" and not the vast number of bogus asylum seekers and illegal immigrants from this region? I don't think they do know. Just not letting the facts get in the way of political correctness.

You can bet the majority are illegals or returning immigrants or enjoining 'families'.

I wonder how much this cultural benefit of immigrants is costing us all.
